The Gedud Hai'vri (Zion Peace Corps and K-9 Unit) is a group of Jews from around the world, who have come together to join in the struggle to defend Jews in Israel against Terror attacks. The Gedud deploys volunteers in Jewish towns in Judea, Samaria and wherever they are needed. The Gedud also has a special K-9 unit (see our K-9 unit link for more details on our K-9 services.) The Gedud offers housing, training and food for all volunteers and also offers a tactical Ulpan course, Torah classes, defense training and plenty of hours of guard duty. Volunteers who wish to enroll in local college or to help local
farms with agricultural work can be attached to local farms and
colleges. While most of our volunteers receive no salary, serious recruits,
who sign on for 1 year or longer can apply for scholarships after
their first month of service.
The dog handlers are also kept busy most of the afternoon, for their first four months of service in theoretical and practical K-9 courses. The dog handlers also awaken earlier to begin caring for and feeding dogs. Dog handlers will generally do less guard duty during their training period to accommodate their more intense schedule. The above schedule is only a sample. Schedule may vary depending
on where one is stationed. To apply click here
